چکیده
Abstract. Surface meltwater drains on several Antarctic ice shelves, resulting in surface and sub-surface lakes that are potentially critical for the shelf collapse. Despite these phenomena, our understanding assessment of drainage refreezing is limited, mainly due to lack field observations limitations optical satellite imagery during polar night cloudy conditions. This paper explores potential backscatter intensity interferometric coherence phase from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) as an alternative assess dynamics lakes. In four case study regions over Amery Roi Baudouin East Antarctica, we examine spatial temporal variations SAR (InSAR) derived Sentinel-1A/B C-band imagery. Throughout year, observed a completely frozen state, partially state with floating lid open-water Our analysis reveals lake delineation challenging melting period when contrast between snow indistinguishable. this finding, show using combination InSAR can be effectively captured other non-summertime months. Moreover, findings highlight utility InSAR-based discriminating refrozen indicate phase-based detection monitoring rapid events. The technique monitor change events is, however, strongly determined by revisit interval changes scattering properties snowfall or melt

Ronne Ice Shelves, Antarctica, using synthetic aperture radar interferometry' Comparison with tide model predictions
Tides near and under floating glacial ice, such as ice shelves and glacier termini in fjords, can influence heat transport into the subice cavity, mixing of the under-ice water column, and the calving and subsequent drift of icebergs. Freesurface displacement patterns associated with ocean variability below glacial ice can be observed by differencing two synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interfero...
متن کاملSynthetic aperture radar interferometry
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a coherent active microwave imaging method. In remote sensing it is used for mapping the scattering properties of the Earth’s surface in the respective wavelength domain. Many physical and geometric parameters of the imaged scene contribute to the grey value of a SAR image pixel. Scene inversion suffers from this high ambiguity and requires SAR data taken at di...

Abstract The population growth, the development of cities, industry, agriculture, and improper use of resources especially non-renewable resources have led human beings to face the danger of running out of resources. In some cases, in addition to the above, irreversible environmental and geological hazards have occurred due to the overdrawn of resources. Over extraction of groundwater resourc...
متن کاملCoregistration Based on Sift Algorithm for Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry
Single-look complex image coregistration is the key step of Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) Interferometry. The precision of the coregistration results have a direct effect on the quality of the SAR interferogram generated, thereby it will influence the accuracy of extracting DEM. In this paper, SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) algorithm will be used in Single-look complex image coregistr...
